Lady night draws her cloak over all tired lands
Gently lights all the stars with her breath
And the moon rises high like a strong silver stand
Keenly watching the traveler rest
As the sun nestles down in the folds of the hills
And the evening descends from the sky
Sweetly bidding the songbirds to quiet their trills
And to bid all the daylight goodbye

The great river runs soft down the length of its bed
Sweetly singing a lullaby tune
To the traveler who wearily lays down his head
Dreaming sweet by the light of the moon
And the stars and the moon and the Great Lady Night
Watch over their slumbering charge
Protectively covering him with silver light
